St Edmund’s School Canterbury is a leading independent school in Kent for children aged 3 – 18 and enjoys an enviable reputation in the arts.

The inaugural St Edmund’s Festival was planned and delivered with a clear and single aim: to celebrate the fantastic talents of young people by bringing to Canterbury an event as new and fresh as it was creative and innovative with a line-up of world-class artists.

"As the St Edmund’s Festival continues to lead the way in another startling display of home-grown talent and a fascinating programme of events, it highlights the place of creativity in all our futures."  John Harle, Professor The Guildhall School

Our annual celebration of the arts goes from strength to strength and continues to reinvent itself.

In 2022, in addition to hosting world class musicians, the Festival will welcome stars from musical theatre and ballroom dancing also place a greater emphasis on the visual arts.

Such change is exciting of course, but be assured that the opportunity for children from St Edmund’s and other local schools to perform alongside (and learn from) professional performers remains the guiding principle of this event.

In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you to our 'for one night only' events throughout the year.
